Plot Summary:
And on we go, fast forward through Tom Stone's alternative reality. He's fighting the same foes as Tom Strong in issues #4 to #7, but there's a difference: he converts all these villains to change allegiance. Together with the ex-villains, he founds a team called 'Strongmen of America', which competes with another team, 'America's Best' (featuring Promethea, Johhny Future, Splash Brannigan and Cobweb). Tom Stone also saves Terra Obscura and unites the two parallel worlds.
Comments:
This must have been a lot of fun for Alan Moore: once again he spoofs comic book history (stupid hero-against-hero fights in the Silver Age, the idea of parallel universes and its abolition, 'Crisis'-style) and mixes up numerous characters from earlier Tom Strong-issues and other ABC books. This is not recommended for new readers, but a great enjoyment for faithful readers who are aboard since Tom Strong #1.
The cover is a detailed parody of the cover for Fantastic Four #26 from 1964.
