Plot summary:
Tom and Tesla are hunting another science villain called Eldon Morovia, which leads them to an ancient Maya temple. Morovia tells Tom that he thinks Tom is a terribly egocentric person whose entire life has focused on himself and nobody else.
Starting as a classic pulp adventure, the story develops when we learn that this is a retelling of a dream, told by Tom lying on a psychiatrist's couch. This Tom Strong is not a science hero but an ordinary guy whose adventures happen only in dreams. What is dream, what's reality? To be continued...
Comments:
This is a very promising start of a two-part story. If Ed Brubaker (Sleeper, Gotham Central) can deliver a good and original solution to this, it's the proof that Tom Strong can remain a solid series if only the right creators (Brubaker, Vaughan) are attached.
